Boiled peanuts, the official South Carolina snack food, is plentiful at the 31st annual South Carolina Peanut Party. The Pelion Ruritan Club sells the peanuts for $3 a cup to fund scholarships in the community. The party continues Saturday 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.The event features a parade, dog show (dog and owner look-a-like and best dressed dog contest), a peanut butter and jelly sandwich eating contest, car show, peanutty recipe contest and local entertainment at the Pelion Community Club, 951 Pine Street.
