CHERRY HILLS VILLAGE, Colo. — A pair of golfers with South Carolina ties have advanced to the round of 32 at the U.S. Amateur golf tournament.
Spartanburg’s Todd White, a former Southern Conference champion at Furman, defeated Jonathan De Los Reyes of Antioch, Calif., 3-and-1 Wednesday at Cherry HIlls Country Club. Also, College of Charleston golfer Zack Munroe of Charlotte defeated Michael Schoolcraft of Englewood, Colo. in 19 holes.
Munroe and White play each other today.
USC golfer Blaine Woodruff finished on the cut line after two rounds of stroke play, but was eliminated in a playoff.
