RICHLAND 2 will issue Gold Cards to district residents age 60 and older and Richland 2 retirees, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday at the District Office, 6831 Brookfield Road. Stop by, register, have your picture taken and the card will be printed immediately. Cardholders enjoy discounts on adult education courses, fee admission to concerts, plays and other events sponsored by district schools, free admission to all regular season athletic events (playoff and championship games are not included) and lunch in any cafeteria for $3.40. If you can’t come by Wednesday, Gold Cards are issued 8 a.m.-1 p.m. every Monday.

REHOBOTH BAPTIST CHURCH Senior Service Ministry will provide transportation for those needing voter ID cards 9 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays through Sept. 28. For more information or to request transportation for voter registration, call (803) 920-1007.

THE LEXINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT will provide fans and air-conditioning units this summer to Lexington County residents in need of assistance. The department is also accepting donations of fans and AC units at the Lexington County Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road. If you need help or would like to help, contact Sgt. THE WEST COLUMBIA POLICE DEPARTMENT’S “Fan the Heat” program provides fans for the elderly and those with medical conditions who need a little help coping with the heat.
