A man was shot in the lower body Thursday night at his home in Eastover.

The man heard a knock on the door about 8 p.m., deputies say, followed by multiple gunshots. A bullet hit his lower body, and he was taken to Palmetto Health Richland for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department is investigating the shooting, and is asking anyone with information on the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or www.sccrimestoppers.com.
