Rabbi Leah Doberne-Schor will make a little history when she delivers the invocation tonight when USC takes on the University of Alabama-Birmingham at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Doberne-Schor, the adviser to Hillel on the USC campus, is the first female rabbi to deliver the blessing.

The Rev. Tom Wall, United Methodist campus minister who works with the athletics department to select faith leaders to deliver the invocation, said Doberne-Schor also may have the distinction of being the first rabbi, since in the past lay representatives of the Jewish community have said the blessing.
