Elgin Police are looking for a man who robbed a general store there Thursday evening.

The robber went into the Dollar General at 2554 Main Street and approached the register with a bag of candy and a dollar bill. When the clerk opened the cash register, he pulled out a semi-automatic gun, took money and ran toward the Elgin Library.
