Columbia Police are looking for a man who grabbed a Forest Drive shoe store clerk by the hair and stole cash from the business’ safe Sunday morning.
The store clerk told police that she was opening the Payless Shoes in the 5400 block of Forest Drive when a man brandishing a handgun came behind her and forced her inside, according to an incident report. The man grabbed her by the hair and told her to take him to the safe and made her open it. Once she took money out of the safe, he told her to go to the bathroom and not to come out. The clerk told police about five minutes after she went to the bathroom, she heard a bell, and the robber was gone.
