The City of Columbia repealed a boil-water advisory for the Caughman Road area and surrounding neighborhoods on Friday around noon.
The advisory warned affected residents to boil water after a 10-inch water main break. Affected were residents near the Caughman Road Elementary School in a neighborhood between Garners Ferry Road and Leesburg Road.
The advisory area included the elementary school as well as Caughman Road from Benson to Hazelwood, Pressley Street, Hazelwood Road, Trailwood Lane, Charles Towne Drive, Ashleys Place, Caughman Ridge Road, Sunview Circle and Benson Road.
The water lines in the area were flushed and lab tested to ensure no dangerous contaminates were in the system, the city said.
