Columbia has been upgrading its water and sewer system. Work is ongoing at the Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant to build a new septic receiving station and new fines screen and grit collection facility. They are also rebuilding some of the clarifier ponds. This is an empty aeration basin where the biological breakdown of the wastewater begins. TIM DOMINICK — tdominick@thestate.com Buy Photo
