South Carolina Supreme Court Justice Kaye Hearn has received the 2012 South Carolina Commission on Women’s Woman of Achievement Award. The award is given to those whose work and life significantly impacts the quality of life of South Carolina women and citizens. For nine years, Justice Hearn served as a family court judge. She was then elected to the South Carolina Court of Appeals, where she served as chief justice for 10 years. Hearn became the second woman in history elected to the S.C. Supreme Court in 2009.
