Richland 2 super to address trustees’ questions Monday

Board to question Brochu at meeting Monday

cclick@thestate.comOctober 20, 2012

The Richland 2 school board will meet Monday in public session to ask questions of superintendent Katie Brochu, who made her annual district progress report presentation earlier this month. Following the called meeting, the board is expected to convene in executive session to discuss her annual evaluation.

Board chairman Calvin “Chip” Jackson has said the evaluation will be made public before the Nov. 6 election, when two incumbents and five challengers are vying for three seats on the board. Brochu’s administration has come under fire from some challengers for stirring distrust and unrest in a district once known mainly for its signature magnet programs.

The district hired an outside company to survey district employees about the climate in Richland 2. The survey has been completed but not yet shown to the board. It is not known if the board will learn about the survey outcomes Monday or at its regular Tuesday meeting.

Monday’s meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. at Forest Lake Elementary School, 6801 Brookfield Road.
