Midlands teams went 0-4 in the Class 2A and 1A state volleyball playoffs on Monday.

In 2A, Columbia dropped a 3-2 decision at home to Indian Land, while Keenan and Pelion were eliminated on the road. Columbia rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win the third and fourth games (25-21, 25-20) before falling flat in a 15-4 fifth game loss. Keenan lost 3-0 at Chesterfield. It was the Raiders first playoff opening-round defeat since 2004. Pelion was expelled 3-0 by Andrew Jackson.

C.A. Johnson’s first playoff visit in 29 years was a short one. The Green Hornets dropped a 3-0 decision on the road at Fox Creek in their first postseason appearance since 1983.
