Game notes: Hammond bounced back from a bitter loss to Augusta Christian with a resounding 52-23 win over Pinewood Prep. It was the Erik Kimreys 100th win in his nine seasons as the Skyhawks head coach. Quayshon Myers ran for 158 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. Sophomore Nick Garrett passed for 230 yards and one touchdown in his first start at quarterback. Doak Fisher had an 83-yard scoring run and caught three passes for 115 yards. Logan Smith had six tackles and two interceptions on defense and one scoring run on offense. Braden Shockleys only catch of the game netted 85 yards and a touchdown and he chipped in three tackles and one interception on defense. William Love was outstanding on defense, as well, with seven tackles, one interception and two pass break-ups. To date, Myers has amassed 1,618 yards rushing, 20 scoring runs and 24 total touchdowns Heathwood Hall is assured of a berth in the SCISA playoffs, but the Highlanders have lost two in a row including a 26-12 setback last week against unbeaten Augusta Christian. QB Will Detwiller was 16-for-35 passing for 234 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw three interceptions. Edwin Propst was the favored target with seven receptions for 84 yards and one TD. Ike McIntosh has a team high 13 tackles. Logan McGill had nine tackles and one interception. Nelson Weston (PAT) and Gabe Brandner (FG) blocked kicks.
Series history: Hammond recent run of success against Heathwood six wins in the last seven meetings - has allowed the Skyhawks to assume a 19-14 series lead.
Ben Lippen (2-7, 1-7 SCISA 3A) vs. Cardinal Newman (4-6, 3-5)

Game notes: Cardinal Newman has made big strides in 2012 under first-year coach Brandon Tidwell, but the Cardinals dream of rating a top four seed in the SCISA playoffs is over thanks to consecutive losses after an upset win over Wilson Hall on Oct. 5. Last week, CN took a 34-7 hit against Orangeburg Prep. The Cardinal struggled offensively with only 182 total ayrds just 73 on the ground. Zakki Parker provided a few highlights 77 yards rushing and one touchdown on 19 carries. On defense, Garrett McNerney had 17 tackles and the Cardinals blocked three OP field goal attempts two by Mark Schimmoeller Ben Lippen closes the book on its season, missing the playoff cut for the first time since 2005.
Series history: Cardinal Newman was a 26-17 winner last season, but the Falcons have won 10 of the 15 meetings since the series debut in 1997.
