STONY BROOK (7-1, 3-0 BIG SOUTH) AT PRESBYTERIAN (2-6, 0-3)

When: 1 p.m.

Stony Brook: WR Kevin Norrell grabbed seven passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s 41-10 rout of Gardner-Webb.

Presbyterian: Demarcus Rouse ran for 109 yards and three touchdowns against Charleston Southern, but the Blue Hose dropped their third game in a row.

Outlook: Stony Brook has won five in a row and has never lost to PC. The trend is not expected to change in the final Big South meeting of the teams.

HOWARD (5-2, 4-1 MEAC) AT S.C. STATE (2-5, 1-3)

When: 1:30 p.m.

Howard: Terrence Leffall ran for 134 yards and one touchdown in a 21-20 win against Morgan State.

S.C. State: Jalen Simmons rolled up 144 yards on 24 carries and scored one touchdown in the Bulldogs’ 27-20 overtime win at Florida A&M.

Outlook: S.C. State has won nine in a row against the Bison and enjoys a 31-10 series edge.

CITADEL (4-3, 3-2 SOCON) AT WOFFORD (6-1, 4-1)

When: 1:30 p.m.

Citadel: Darien Robinson accounted for 116 of the team’s 378 rushing yards and scored one touchdown as the Bulldogs broke out of a three-game losing streak with a 45-31 win against lowly Western Carolina in their last outing on Oct. 13.

Wofford: RB Eric Breitenstein had the 26th 100-yard rushing game of his career (123 yards, 2 touchdowns) in a vital 38-28 win against Appalachian State. Breitenstein’s second touchdown put the Terriers ahead for good on the first play of the fourth quarter. The senior running back is closing in on 5,000 career yards (4,813 to date) and the school record (5,128) held by Shawn Graves.

Outlook: Citadel has a 40-23-1 series lead, but the Terriers have been dominant of late, winning 12 in a row since 1999.

EDWARD WATERS (4-4) AT CHARLESTON SOUTHERN (3-4)

When: 1:30 p.m.

Charleston Southern: Teddy Allen burned Presbyterian for 153 yards rushing and four touchdowns for the suddenly hot Buccaneers.

Outlook: CSU has won three in a row and figures to keep things going against an overmatched NAIA foe.

NORTH GREENVILLE (2-6) AT CATAWBA (3-5)

When: 1:30 p.m.

North Greenville: DE Stefan Bynoe led the Crusaders to a 14-10 homecoming win against Brevard with a stellar individual performance that included 11 tackles, one tackle for loss, one interception and a school-record three forced fumbles.

Catawba: Xavier Bond ran for 112 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-28 loss to Wingate.

Outlook: It’s a game featuring two teams going in different directions. NGU has won two of three since opening the season 0-5. Catawba has dropped four in a row and five of six in the wake of a 2-0 start.

BENEDICT (1-7, 1-4) AT ALBANY STATE (5-3, 4-1)

When: 2 p.m.

Benedict: RB Chris Johnson scored two touchdowns in a 24-point fourth quarter eruption that led to the Tigers’ first win of the season — a 39-26 homecoming triumph against Morehouse.

Albany State: DB Dexter Moody is tied for first in Division II with seven interceptions.

Outlook: The Tigers never have had much luck against the Golden Rams, losing nine of the 10 meetings since joining the SIAC in 2002.

NEWBERRY (5-3) AT UNC-PEMBROKE (5-3)

When: 2 p.m.

Newberry: Former Airport High star W.T. Murden had a big game in a 31-17 win at Tusculum — completing 21 of 25 passes for 309 yards and four touchdowns.

UNC Pembroke: QB Luke Charles has thrown for 1,557 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Braves, who have lost two in a row since cracking the Top 25.

Outlook: Newberry is looking to avenge a 23-20 loss to the Division II Independent Braves in the first meeting of the teams last season.

FURMAN (2-6, 1-4 SOCON) AT ELON (3-4, 1-3)

When: 3 p.m.

Furman: RB Jerodis Williams, who is ranked 13th nationally in rushing yards per game, added 98 yards to his slate in a 38-17 loss to Georgia Southern.

Elon: QB Thomas Wilson ranks seventh nationally in passing efficiency, 10th in passing yards per game and 15th in total offense.

Outlook: The Paladins might need a win against the Phoenix to keep from finishing a disappointing season in free-fall mode.

LIBERTY (3-4, 2-0 BIG SOUTH) AT COASTAL CAROLINA (3-4, 1-1)

When: 3:30 p.m.

Liberty: Sirchauncey Holloway ran for a season high 142 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 21-13 non-conference win against Concord.

Coastal Carolina: Jeremy Height ranks 20th nationally in all-purpose running with an average yield of 144.9 yards per game.

Outlook: Coastal used to torment the vaunted Flames, but Liberty has gained the upper hand in the series by winning four of the past five outings.
