Ryan Wilson has been appointed executive director of South Carolina Equality, the state’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender political advocacy and civil rights organization. As an undergraduate at Clemson University, Wilson served as co-president of the Clemson Gay-Straight Alliance. He was named the safe zone ally coordinator as a graduate student at the University of South Carolina. Prior to joining South Carolina Equality, he served as president of both South Carolina Pride and the Harriet Hancock LGBT Center.
