RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — A Richland County Sheriff’s deputy responding to a fight reported at a Richland County location struck a pedestrian with his car and injured the victim’s leg.
The deputy was responding to a call about a fight at McCary’s Bar & Grill, 851 Bush River Road around 10 p.m. Thursday. As the officer turned into the parking lot, his or her car struck a bystander in the leg.
The victim, a 29-year-old man, was taken to Palmetto Health Richland hospital for evaluation, the department said. A name and condition update were not available.
The deputy’s name and other details were not available while an internal investigation takes place, the department said.
