The boat launch on the north side of the Lake Murray dam near Irmo will close for a few weeks for improvements.

It will close Nov. 12 and is expected to reopen in early December after the parking lot is repaved and boat ramps are upgraded.

Those who walk on the dam pathway can use a parking area on the south side of the span.
