Couple held up at gunpoint in Northeast Richland

RICHLAND COUNTY A man and woman walking to their car in northeast Columbia Friday were robbed at gunpoint.

The incident occurred in the 100 block of Sparkleberry Crossing around 9:45 p.m. Friday, Richland County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Curtis Wilson said.

The suspect stole the male victim’s wallet and fled the scene, he said.

Deputies are continuing to investigate.
