RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — Richland Councilwoman Val Hutchinson is in a close race for re-election in Northeast Richland County.

With 10 of 11 precincts reporting, unofficials results show neighborhood leader Julie Ann Dixon with a 876-vote lead over Hutchinson in District 9. The Pontiac box was still out.

“I don’t know if the results are legitimate yet,” said Hutchinson, one of three Republicans on the 11-member council. She is seeking a third term.
