A former WLTX-TV reporter has died unexpectedly in Seattle, the Columbia television station has reported.
Joel Connable, 39, died from complications from Type I diabetes just a few days after starting work at a new station, Seattle's KOMO-TV.
A Facebook post by Connable's father Thursday indicated he might have died after an insulin pump malfunctioned. Connable got married just two weeks earlier.
Connable worked at WLTX from 1999 to 2002. He helped establish the station's Restaurant Report Card segment, WLTX said.
After leaving Columbia, Connable worked in Los Angeles and Florida. Aol.com reports that a wrongful termination lawsuit Connable had filed against NBC 6 in Broward County, FL, was still pending at the time of his death.
