A recount of ballots will occur in a few days to determine who wins a seat on the Lexington 3 school board, officials said late Friday.
The recount is automatic because there is a slightly less than 1 percent difference between the two candidates.
Incumbent Leon Drafts received 1,799 votes while challenger Craig Shealy got 1,664 in unofficial results from Tuesday’s election.
