S.C. STATE (4-5, 3-3 MEAC) AT NORTH CAROLINA A&T (5-4, 3-3)
When: 1:30 p.m.
S.C. State: QB Richard Cue was 26-for-40 passing for 414 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-23 win against Howard.
North Carolina A&T: D’Vonte Grant’s fourth-quarter interception return touchdown locked down a 16-3 win at Florida A&M last week. It was second interception return tally of the season for Grant and the fourth overall for the Aggies, who are ranked second nationally in total defense, third in scoring defense.
Outlook: This could be the year the Aggies end S.C. State’s recent series domination. The Bulldogs have won 11 in a row, but a win assures much-improved A&T of its first winning season since 2003.
CHATTANOOGA (5-4, 4-2 SOCON) AT WOFFORD (7-2, 5-2)
When: 1:30 p.m.
Chattanooga: QB Jacob Huesman had 107 yards passing and one touchdown toss and ran for 130 yards and two TDs in a come-from-behind 45-24 win against Western Carolina.
Wofford: Eric Breitenstein became the second Wofford running back to surpass the 5,000-yard mark in his career with a 168-yard performance in an overtime loss at Samford. It was his 28th 100-yard game. The senior star needs 38 yards to become the school’s all-time leading rusher.
Outlook: Wofford blew a chance to take the high road in the SoCon title race, but the Terriers can still do no worse than tie for first place with a home win in the final conference outing. It won’t be easy. The Mocs have won four of five — the only loss coming in overtime to Georgia Southern.
FURMAN (3-6, 2-4 SOCON) AT APPALACHIAN STATE (7-3, 5-2)
When: 3:30 p.m.
Furman: Senior running back Jerodis Williams needs 35 yards rushing to get to the 3,500-yard level in his career.
Appalachian State: Jamal Jackson was 21-for-34 passing for 383 yards and three touchdowns in 31-28 win against Georgia Southern that put the Mountaineers back in the SoCon title race.
Outlook: With a conference championship and a possible NCAA playoff invitation hanging in the balance, App State has plenty of motivation. Furman, on the other hand, is playing out the string in its worst season in 18 years.
THE CITADEL (4-3) AT VMI (2-7)
When: 1:30 p.m.
Citadel: Darien Robinson ran for a career-high 178 yards and one touchdown in last week’s 38-24 win against Elon.
VMI: QB Eric Kordenbrock has 4,112 yards passing and in his three-year career.
Outlook: The Citadel’s early dreams of glory have faded, but the Bulldogs still take pride in dominating this uniquely Southern rivalry. Moreover, success assures a winning record for the Bulldogs for the first time since 2007.
COASTAL CAROLINA (5-4, 3-1 BIG SOUTH) AT PRESBYTERIAN (2-7, 0-4)
When: 1 p.m.
Coastal Carolina: WR Niccolo Mastromatteo caught four passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s 55-33 road rout of Gardner-Webb.
Presbyterian: Kaleb Griffin passed for 202 yards but the slumping Blue Hose dropped their fourth in a row against Stony Brook.
Outlook: PC won the first meeting of the teams in 2007, but the Chanticleers have since won four in a row.
GARDNER-WEBB (2-7, 1-3 BIG SOUTH) AT CHARLESTON SOUTHERN (4-5, 2-2)
When: 1:30 p.m.
Gardner-Webb: Kenny Little ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns in a 55-33 setback against Coastal Carolina.
Charleston Southern: Malcom Dixon had season-high totals in passing yards (184) and total offense (229) last week in a loss to Liberty.
Outlook: G-W has won three in a row and leads the overall series by a 9-3 count.
NEWBERRY (5-5, 3-3 SAC) AT BREVARD (1-9, 0-6)
When: 1 p.m.
Newberry: Sophomore W.T. Murden enters the final game of his first full season as the starting quarterback with 2,334 yards passing and 20 touchdown passes.
Brevard: Freshman Jaquan Marsh ran for 105 yards and one touchdown in a tough loss to Catawba last week.
Outlook: The slumping Wolves hope to finish on a high note against last-place Brevard. Newberry has lost five of six after getting off to a 4-0 start.
VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY AT LYNCHBURG (2-6) AT NORTH GREENVILLE (4-6)
When: 1:30 p.m.
VUL: Richard Brannon ran for 75 yards and three touchdowns in the Dragons’ 21-10 win against Alderson Broaduss a week ago.
North Greenville: Freshman Darius Paulk ran for 153 yards and one touchdown in 35-28 win against Wingate last week. The RNE graduate has rushed for 727 yards in eight games in his rookie college season.
Outlook: NGU has been hot of late with four wins in its past five games, and should keep it going in the season finale against a struggling second-year program.
