Thelen wins Fubon Senior Open by 5 strokes

Tim Thelen fired a 3-under-par 69 on Sunday to capture the Fubon Senior Open title by five shots.

The American Thelen finished at 14-under 202 to claim his third European Senior Tour title of the year. With the victory, Thelen locked up a top-4 finish in the 2012 Senior Tour Order of Merit.

"Words cannot describe how incredible this is for me," said Thelen. "I had been a playing pro for 23 years and I was just delighted to get on the Senior Tour last year but to win three times this year is just unfathomable."

Frankie Minoza shot 71 on Sunday to finish tied for second place with Chris Williams (70) at 9-under.

Boonchu Ruangkit took third place at 8-under and Paul Wesselingh ended at 7- under to finish alone in fifth.
