Columbia, SC — My wife and I have always enjoyed listening to Keven Cohen’s “Afternoon Drive” program during our daily commute to Saluda. We have found it to be informative and entertaining. We are stunned and furious at the cold manner in which he was terminated. What could he possibly have done, said or failed to do or say that would have warranted Clear Channel handing his head to him just before he was to go on the air?
I can’t imagine anything being so egregious as to warrant his being summarily discharged in such a manner. This is also a slap in the face of his thousands of listeners.
Was he ever given any reason to believe that his job performance — or anything remotely related to it — was in jeopardy? If so, was he ever warned about such a deficiency and given time to correct it? It was heartless to discharge him five days before the election, and only a few weeks before Hanukkah. The man has a wife and two young children.
We, his listeners and fans, are entitled to know the truth about this matter and demand that it be forthcoming. We don’t want to hear a pack of lies, stonewalling and obfuscation. If this is the way Clear Channel runs its business, it deserves to fall flat on its face.
