Auburn knocks Cougars in Charleston

— Frankie Sullivan scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half to lead Auburn to a 55-51 victory over College of Charleston at the Charleston Classic on Friday night.

Auburn (2-1) will face Dayton for fifth place Sunday while the Cougars (2-1) try to avoid losing three straight on its home floor when it plays Boston College for seventh place in the eight-team event .

Anthony Stitt had 11 points to lead the Cougars.

NO. 3 KENTUCKY 101, LAFAYETTE 49

At Lexington, Ky., Kyle Wiltjer hit seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points, Alex Poythress added a career-high 22 and the Wildcats (2-1) routed the Leopards (1-2).

NO. 14 MISSOURI 74, NICHOLLS ST. 54

At Columbia, Mo., Alex Oriakhi had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Earnest Ross scored 16 points and the Tigers (3-0) beat the Colonels (0-2).

MISSISSIPPI 92, ARKANSAS-LITTLE ROCK 52

At Oxford, Miss., reserve guard Derrick Millinghaus scored 19 points and added five assists as the Rebels (3-0) placed five scorers in double figures to defeat the Trojans (1-2).

ALABAMA 77, VILLANOVA 55

At New York, Trevor Releford scored 25 points and the Crimson Tide (4-0) beat the Wildcats (3-1), running away in the second half to win the 2K Sports Classic benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project.

NO. 6 N.C. STATE 94, UMASS 76

At Bayamon, Puerto Rico, T.J. Warren had 21 points to lead the Wolfpack (3-0) past the Minutemen (2-1) at the Puerto Rico Tipoff.

Richard Howell added 19 points and nine rebounds and Lorenzo Brown had 11 points and 10 assists for the Wolfpack.

NO. 23 CONNECTICUT 77, WAKE FOREST 71

At St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Shabazz Napier scored all 16 of his points in the final 10 minutes and Ryan Boatright also scored 16 to lead the Huskies (3-0) past the Demon Deacons (1-1) in the Paradise Jam.

DAYTON 87, BOSTON COLLEGE 71

At Charleston, freshman Dyshawn Pierre scored 23 points on 8-for-8 shooting to lead the Flyers (2-1) past the Eagles (1-2) in the Charleston Classic.

FLORIDA STATE 88, BYU 70

At New York, Okaro White scored 17 points and the Seminoles (2-1) State made 11 3-pointers against the Cougars (2-1) in the Coaches vs, Cancer Classic semifinals at the Barclays Center. Florida State will play the winner of the game between No. 20 Notre Dame and Saint Joseph’s in tonight’s championship game.

MIAMI 73, JACKSONVILLE 57

At Coral Gables, Shane Larkin scored 21 of his career-high 27 points in the second half to lead the Hurricanes (2-1) past the Dolphins (1-2).

MARYLAND 91, LIU BROOKLYN 74

At College Park, Md., Alex Len had 18 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots, and the Terrapins (2-1) used their inside game to get past the Blackbirds (0-3).

At Muncie, Ind., Majok Majok had 17 points and seven rebounds, helping the Cardinals (2-0) beat the Terriers (1-2). Lee Skinner led Wofford with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
