Congaree National Park has changed hours for the Harry Hampton Visitor Center to 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

Last year, the visitor center was opened until 7 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from April through September. Of course, even when the visitor center is closed, visitors can walk on the park’s trails.

The park, in southern Richland County, is closed only on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
