A Florida man was arrested at an Upstate restaurant after the manager told police the man defecated on the carpet, according to an incident report.
Edward William Guerin, 23, of Palm Beach, was charged with malicious injury to property and disorderly conduct, according to arrest warrants.
Officers responded to Gerhard's Cafe on East Main Street about 1:30 a.m. Saturday and spoke to the manager, who said Guerin had gone into the fine dining room at the restaurant, called the Elizabeth Room, broke a chair and turned over some tables, causing the oil in the table lamps to spill onto the carpet, an incident report states. Guerin also defecated on the carpet, according to the report.
The manager said the chair was valued at $150, and cost to clean and disinfect the carpet was estimated at $600, the report states.
Guerin was released from the Spartanburg County Detention Facility on a $1,262 bond.
