Married one day, Myrtle Beach man charged with assaulting wife

— A Wallace man was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Monday after police said he assaulted his wife over the weekend, one day after the two were married.

Joshua Wade Ingram, 34, is charged with criminal domestic violence, first offense, and cruelty to children, according to an Horry County police report. He remained incarcerated on Tuesday and bail had not been set. Police said officers responded Saturday to a domestic violence call at a location on U.S. 501.

The victim told police she and Ingram had been married the day before.

Ingram -- a recovering alcoholic -- disappeared Saturday for more than an hour before returning intoxicated, the police report stated.

On the way home, police said the suspect reportedly became angry at the victim's 3-year-old daughter for accidentally splashing water on him. Ingram turned around, grabbed the child's head and slammed it into her car seat, according to police.

The victim then pulled the vehicle over and told Ingram to get out, according to the report. He then hit her in the arm twice before getting out of the car.

Police did not notice any physical injury to the woman or child, although the 3-year-old did complain of her head hurting, the report stated.
