Columbia, SC — While I congratulate Katrina Shealy on her election to the S.C. Senate, I can in no way support her desire to change our method of permitting the concealed carry of weapons. It is not a difficult process at all. You take a class, pass a shooting test and undergo a background check (and the state even picks up a tiny bit revenue).

Moving with the military provided me with the opportunity to have permits in several states (strict gun-control Massachusetts included), and ours is by far the best system. I ask my own senator, John Courson, to oppose Ms. Shealy on this important issue.
