Six area high school football standouts have earned invitations to the SCISAA North-South All-Star games, which will be held Saturday at Orangeburg Prep.

Three Rebels from Thomas Heyward Academy headline the list, as Bryan Lee Wade, John Padgett and Nick Keiffer all garnered selections.

Wade was the Rebels' big target in the passing game on an offense that relied heavily on its ground attack. The tight end finished with more than 30 catches and 600 yards while capping his career with nine touchdowns.

Keiffer and Padgett, a pair of 6-foot-1 senior linemen, helped pave the way on the ground during the Rebels' 12-win season. Thomas Heyward rushed for more than 2,500 yards this year en route to its first state title appearance since 1992, led by Shrine Bowl tailback Ryan Day.

Clay Oliver will represent Hilton Head Christian in Saturday's game. The linebacker was second on the team with 109 tackles during the Eagles' second straight state championship season. The 6-2 senior also recorded 12 tackles for loss, a pair of sacks and blocked a punt for a touchdown in a win over Bible Baptist early in the season.

Hilton Head Prep's Charlie Wilmot also earned a North-South spot, as the quarterback returned to the Dolphins to lead the team to a 5-5 campaign under first-year coach Kevin Wald. The senior threw for 1,572 yards and 11 touchdowns while completing 61 percent of his passes. He also netted 208 yards on the ground to go along with three scores.

Beaufort Academy lineman Bryan Strawn, meanwhile, will play in the 8-man game, which will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The 11-man North-South game will follow at 12:30 p.m.
