Surgeon Thomas P. Gross of Midlands Orthopaedics has received the “HAP” Paul Award, which honors new developments in science and technology of arthroplasty.

Ralph Britain has been elected vice president of the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

Michael Morris, an attorney with Rogers Townsend, has been appointed to the Lawyers Fund for Client Protection Committee.

Lana H. Sims IV and Lyndey Ritz Zwing have joined Ellis, Lawhorne & Sims as associate attorneys in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group.

Brian Lysell, a 2012 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, has joined Callison, Tighe & Robinson as an associate.

Ogletree Deakins has plans to open new offices in Berlin, Germany and London, England.

Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough has added 16 new attorneys to its Boston office.
