Richland County, SC — Does Lillian McBride understand the concept of “The buck stops here”? She should accept the fact that she and her subordinates failed miserably. Historical data from past elections was available. Every election expert predicted a heavy turnout for 2012.

Ms. McBride had more than a year to cover every detail of a process that was already in place. In spite of all this she appears clueless about what went wrong and thinks she may know the reasons by the end of December. And she wants voters to overlook this fiasco based on her belief that she can learn from this and fix it for the next election? That’s simply not acceptable.

Ms. McBride should do the right thing and resign immediately. If not, she should be fired.
