I want to thank all the citizens of South Carolina. My daughter has started her junior year at one of our wonderful institutions of higher education here in our state. This would not have been possible without the help of every one of you.

The Life Scholarship and other forms of financial aid available to her and all students who apply themselves and value an education has been of great help in lowering the cost of her education. Thank you.

To her teachers who have guided her along the way, thank you. To our police officers and our military who have kept her safe, thank you. To all our utility workers who have kept the lights on and the water flowing, thank you.

These days we seem to spend too much of our time tearing each other down. We are all South Carolinians and we are all Americans; I for one am very appreciative. Again, I thank you.
