Man accused of stealing meat surrenders to Richland County deputies

— A man accused of stealing meat from a Richland County grocery store has turned himself into police.

Ronald Quarles surrendered to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department after seeing his photo on TV news Wednesday morning, the department said. Quarles is charged with shoplifting and is accused of stealing a cart full of packaged meat at Food Lion on 9810 Two Notch Road Oct 30.

Quarles is being held at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and could be charged with additional crimes, deputies said.
