LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC — Lexington County Council candidate Darrell Hudson lost a second round in his bid to overturn the victory of Republican Kent Collins.
The State Election Commission turned down Hudson’s appeal Tuesday after concluding it was unrelated to ballot procedures.
Hudson finished second in a five-candidate field to Collins in District 3, which includes most of the town of Lexington and areas to its north and west.
He contends Collins should be disqualified for failing to disclose finances properly upon becoming a candidate last spring.
Hudson, who ran as a petition candidate, is uncertain whether he will continue the battle by taking his challenge to court.
