Richland County, SC With all the mess in Richland County, perhaps we ought to go back to paper ballots. Voting machines seem to have complicated the entire system immeasurably with their proven unreliability. This does not even take into account their initial expense and upkeep.

The cost of paper, pencils and printing of ballots would be minimal by comparison. Voters would no longer have to stand in line for hours.

Better still, there would be little wonder about whether the county was accurate.
