Richland County, SC — Hmmmm. Citizens vote themselves a local tax increase (maybe). But who knows? Many Richland County residents who wanted to vote were unable to because an unknown person made a mistake.
And then it turns out that all the votes cast weren’t counted initially. Because another unknown person made a mistake. But that was fixed. But wait, now we find out that more votes weren’t counted. Because an unknown person made a mistake.
And then the irresponsible head of the department that screwed so many citizens out of their vote seems to be defended by the elected officials who appointed her to her $89,000 per year, do-nothing position. But they’re looking into the situation while she hunkers down waiting for everything to blow over.
Regardless, we’re told by state officials that the election results are valid. By the way, those are officials in a state where years of personal data is left around unencrypted and stolen by a foreign entity. Is this a great state or what?
