Katharine Beard doesn’t get it. In her Nov. 28 letter, “Abortion none of men’s business,” she states that women’s bodies are not men’s to control and legislate. She states that anything regarding women’s bodies should be between their physicians, their God and themselves.

What she does not seem to get is that when a woman is pregnant, there is her body and the body of the baby she is carrying — two bodies, not one. Men have as much right as women to act for the protection of unborn, innocent children. Thank God that many women and men have the courage to stand up for the weakest and most defenseless in our society.

As a man, I will continue to speak out against abortion. As a man, I will vote for those who want to limit the killing of children and will not vote for those who promote it. As a man, I praise those women and men who have not bought into the lie that women must have the right to kill children so that they themselves can be free.
