Singer Justin Bieber (he of the tween affliction Bieber Fever) is coming to the Colonial Life Arena on Aug. 5. The arena tweeted the announcement Thursday morning. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
Bieber now is touring off his third album, “Believe,” which is also the name of this tour, also his third. His opening acts have included Carly Rae Jepsen (she of the endless earworm “Call Me Maybe”). Two of Bieber’s recent hits, “As Long as You Love Me” and “Boyfriend,” were on the album that debuted at No. 1 in June, selling more than 370,000 copies in its first week. To date, more than 1 million copies have been sold, an indication that, for the meanwhile, Bieber is here to stay.
Tickets, which cost $39.50-$95, can be purchased online at www.lmctix.com; by calling (855) 456-2849; at Play It Again Sports; and at the arena. Pencils of Promise, an organization that builds schools in developing countries, will receive a $1 donation from each ticket sold.
If you’d like to wait in line, ticket buyers will be given a numbered wristband at 8 a.m. Friday at the arena box office. A random number will be drawn at 8:30 a.m., and the customer holding the number will be the first to buy tickets followed by subsequent numbers.
