Honor Seals from Benghazi attack

Published: December 12, 2012

— Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, the two former Navy Seals who died defending our country in a civilian capacity as security personal at the embassy in Benghazi, Libya, should not go unrecognized for their heroism and valor. Their families deserve a keepsake that they can hold to remind them of the heroes that they were.

As a 100 percent disabled Marine veteran with numerous medals that reflect my sacrifice for my country in Vietnam, I have asked Sen. Lindsey Graham and U.S. Reps. Jeff Duncan, Joe Wilson and Trey Gowdy to see to it that these men receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom or like medal if there is one to honor their efforts to save Ambassador Chris Stevens and protect our sovereign ground.

The political battle to get to the truth should not take precedence over the families who deserve to have their loved ones recognized now.
