Dutch Fork senior star Alaina Coates made her senior season debut on Tuesday in a 46-28 rout of Blythewood that upped the defending state champion Silver Foxes record to 5-0.
Coates, a 6-foot-5 center who has signed to play at South Carolina, scored 14 points on 7-for-7 shooting from the field, grabbed two rebounds, blocked two shots and came up with two steals in her return to action after having knee surgery in early November.
DF broke open a close game in the second half, beginning with a 12-4 run in the third quarter that staked the Foxes to a 33-23 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Junior Sydney Shull and Rose Robinson also had solid outings for Dutch Fork. Shull scored 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting and also had five steals and two assists. Robinsons contributions included four points, four rebounds and four steals.
