Class 4A top-ranked Lexington finished in first place at the Beef OBradys Invitational wrestling tournament last weekend in Fort Mill.
The Wildcats had 10 wrestlers advance to the championship bracket, eight place winners and two champions. Jackson Myers (113) and Walker Barfield (145) both went 5-0 on the way to individual titles. Blake Risinger (4-1, 2nd at 126), Dacus Fenchel (5-1, 3rd at 170), Brandon Shepard (3-3, 4th at 138), Michael Manning (4-2, 4th at 182), Andrew Cardnes (3-3, 4th at 195) and Billy Cannon (4-2, 4th at 285) were the other Lexington entries to place.
Nate Meagher (4-2 at 220), and Trev Comstock (4-2 at 132) advanced to the championship bracket but did not place.
Lugoff-Elgin was also on hand and finished sixth in the team standings. The Demons produced three gold medallist Chris Jackson (4-0 at 126), Jarelle Hannah (4-1 at 182) and Allen Jenerette (5-0 at 220). Hannah had a lose in pool qualifying, but went 3-0 in the championship bracket. Teammates Tucker Gold (2-3 at 113), Trey Brassell (2-3 at 120), Wade Branham (2-2 at 195) and Hakeem Young (2-3 at 285) all advanced but did not place.
