RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — Leesburg Road is about to get some long-awaited widening and reconstruction work.
Here are three things the project will do:
• Intersections will be widened and realigned. Portions of the road will be widened from two lanes to five lanes, with left turn lanes, curbs and gutters.
• Portions of the road will get sidewalks.
• The bridge over Mill Creek will be repaired.
For more information ... The South Carolina Department of Transportation is holding a public hearing tonight to collect input on details. The hearing will be between 5 and 7 p.m. at Meadowfield Elementary School, at 525 Galway Lane.
Large aerial displays of the entire project will be available for viewing, and SCDOT can answer individuals questions. Property owners and business owners on or near the project area are urged to attend.
