Shayla Merritt and Renee Williamson have joined the Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports & Tourism as the marketing department’s new marketing and communications associates. Both will assist in promoting the Columbia area through a variety of marketing, public relations and social media efforts. Merritt previously has worked for People United for Sustainable Housing as well as in the entertainment and tourism industries. Williamson completed an internship in the public relations department at Palmetto Health Foundation while earning her masters degree in mass communications from the University of South Carolina.
