It looks like the Mayans were off by about two weeks and 4 million miles. Supposedly, the Mayan calendar ends with the end of the world on Friday. Well, the asteroid which would have made that come true just passed several days ago. It was about half the size of the six-mile diameter asteroid that made the dinosaurs extinct, and it passed just 16 moon lengths (4 million miles) away. The most recent asteroid would have most likely caused the extinction of the human race had it hit the earth.
