Lexington County authorities have charged three area teens with breaking into a home near Chapin on Dec. 12 and stealing more than $2,000 worth of jewelry, coins and other goods.
Charles Jacob Leo Frick, 17, of Little Mountain, and two 16-year-olds, from Irmo and Chapin, were arrested Tuesday. Because they are juveniles, the two 16-year-olds were not identified.
Frick was charged with second-degree burglary, conspiracy, receiving stolen goods, petit larceny, and possessing a 2006 Chevrolet Impala that was reported stolen in Atlanta on Dec. 17. Items stolen from the home on Stevens Creek Road were found in Fricks and the two other boys homes, Lexington Sheriff James Metts said.
Frick was arrested Tuesday morning after deputies found him sleeping in the front seat of the Impala which he is believed to have stolen, Metts said. Mail taken from mailboxes on Amicks Ferry Road in Chapin was found in the car.
Frick was being held at the Lexington County Detention Center on Tuesday night.
The two juveniles were released to the custody of their grandparents, Metts said.
