Fort Jackson Troops leave for holidays

Troops stand in line at 1:30 A.M. Thursday morning as they wait to board busses and make theirway home. Some 8,000 soldiers left Fort Jackson late Wednesday night and Thursday morning as the fort cleared out for Christmas holidays. 150 busses were needed to transport the troops who were on their way to the Amtrak station in Columbia or one of three airports in Columbia, Charlotte, or Atlanta.
