I am tired of President Obama stirring up the poor of this country against the wealthy for his own political goals. The vast majority of the wealthy in this country got there the old-fashioned way: They worked hard and earned it without depending on the government for help.
To hear the president talk, wealthy people are evil and out to step on the poor and keep them downtrodden. Many of the wealthy give huge amounts of money each year to help the poor, in addition to collectively paying billions of dollars in taxes. Without the wealthy, who represent the fulfillment of the American dream, our country would be a much weaker nation with a much lower standard of living and very little opportunity for its citizens to improve their station in life.
If being wealthy is such a bad thing, why do so many of the poor around the nation buy lottery tickets? Is it to help other people send their kids to college? I would rather think that it is to become instantly wealthy themselves.
