I have to chuckle when I see that the majority of those polled approve of taxing the rich. I suppose the minority who disapprove are the rich.
It is easy to support a policy when it is “them” who are getting taxed.
I do not meet the financial definition of rich by any means, but I am very aware of Congress’ insatiable lust to spend. So, when Congress gets its hands on the paltry amount of revenue that this tax will bring in, I have no doubts that it too will be spent, and we will be no closer than we are now to fiscal responsibility.
So, what does that mean? Well … them will soon be you.
