Dreher's 31-game winning streak ends

Published: December 21, 2012

Defending 3A state champion Dreher saw its 31-game winning streak come to and end on Friday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Teresa Smith’s Blue Devils suffered a 54-45 loss to Archbishop Carroll of the Philadelphia Catholic League in the CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational semifinals.

Dreher (10-1) will look to bounced back with a win in Saturday’s third-place game against Edgewater (FL).

Kaydra Duckett paced the Blue Devils with 22 points, nine rebounds and three steals, but had no double-digit backing. The rest of the lineup had a telling 8-for-30 shooting percentage.

Carroll’s Sarah Curran fired in a game-high 23 points, featuring 6-for-7 shooting from 3-point range, and had solid backing from Lexi Stover (12 points) and Ann McKnight (10).
